Monday June 5th - Presented by the Arts Council of Oak Ridge

Oak Ridge is famous as an innovator in Science and Technology breakthroughs, but our town is also a leader in supporting a vibrant Arts community!

To kick off festival week, we will showcase some of the wonderful Arts in the Oak Ridge community.

Beginning at 6pm on the Bissell Park Pavilion stage (1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike), we will feature some of our towns most talented musical groups. In addition to the performing arts, displays of local, visual art will be on the other side of the pavilion stage along the concrete skirt adjacent to the pavilion.

Tuesday June 4th - Battle of the Bands - Presented by United Way of Anderson County

 

Do you want a chance to play during Secret City Festival? Here's your shot; The “Battle of the Bands” will be held on June 4th from 6:00-10:00 at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Each band will choose a category: Youth (19 and under), acoustic, or electric. Four judges that will use the following criteria to make their decisions: technique, energy, and crowd participation.

Grand prize is a Friday night meet and greet with the headliner band and a performance on the Pavilion Stage right before the main stage opens.

Wednesday June 5th - "The Next 75" - community picnic presented by the Oak Ridge Ministerial Association and the People's Supper.

Being our city's 76th year, the hope for this picnic is to give an opportunity for all people to come together and talk about where we are as a city and where we want to go in the next 75 years! All seated across from each other eating chicken and burgers (vegetarians also welcome) Come and make a friend over honest conversation.

Thursday June 6th - Outdoor Movie Night and family science night in Jackson Square! Presented by Jackson Square Merchant's Association.

There will be 20 interactive stem-type activities including several from MUSE in Knoxville, one from each Oak Ridge elementary school, RAMSAT from Robertsville Midddle in partnership with NOOA/ORNL, as well as from AMSE, yoSTEM, Children's Museum, ORAU, Woodman Insurance Star Lab, Jacobs Engineering Water conservation demonstration, and more! 

A large e=mc2 will be displayed on the wall of Pinnacle Financial for family photo opportunites. Music will be by Elza Gate Band and Rose Victrola.
